Studio Director

Maria is our Studio Director and Co-Founder, leading Studio Ostra’s new-build projects and working closely with homeowners, developers and investors from the early planning stages through to completion.

Maria helps our clients establish a clear design direction from the outset and guides selections across both the exterior and interior of their build. From flooring, finishes and colour through to kitchens, bathrooms and lighting, she considers the home as a whole, ensuring each decision works together while keeping functionality, budget and the end goal in mind.

She works closely with trades and suppliers throughout the build process, helping coordinate design decisions and keeping the original direction consistent as the build progresses.

Alongside new builds, Maria also works on interior and exterior colour schedules and, with a background in property styling, enjoys stepping into the styling side of the studio whenever she can.

Maria holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canterbury where applies the skills learnt by overseeing the day-to-day running of Studio Ostra and its client relationships.

Having completed a build of her own with her husband and while raising two young sons, Maria understands the process from the client’s side too, and the value of having someone there to help navigate the decisions along the way.
